I just wonder should I lay low until I have confirmed higher scores or what.
I fired off a validation letter to Asta, received greencard back...never heard nothing back from them.
DO talk to at least 2 bk attorneys. Don't forget that even being on the phone with them they are on the clock, after you have retained one. If you have any cc's that are current try to keep from filing on them. Somehow our Chevron got left out of the bk filing which was a Godsend because it allowed us to keep a card and we were current on it up to our discharge and beyond, of course. We also had a dept store, JCP, with a 0 balance and a nation wide jewerly chain store card, 0 balance. These quickly helped us to establish a current pay history. Also, get a secured card, www.apbank.com, and get going on that. Fee of $35.00 to open 17% interest, $300 deposits to savings account, deposits increase credit limit, cash advance available, they report to all 3 cb's and do NOT report secured. Do not pay the sub-primes all those greaseball fees. Put it in your OWN account, it will convert to a regular account after 18 months or so, depending on your pay history, which you will of course keep current, right ;-) and you will have a nice savings account started. You can download the app. I agree too, many that have filed bk13 wish they'd have filed bk7. We are almost 2 years post bk7 and our myficos with credit repair are in the 725 range for both DH and myself, with the exception of 1 Equifax at 677. We started out at 500's. We qualify for a refi on our house already and we are getting by just fine. The Creditboards and Straight Talk/Credit Net have been amazingly helpful in rebuilding our credit. So, it's not the end of the world, not a decision made lightly either, but for us the only way to get a fresh start which is what bk is all about. Read the origins of Bk if you haven't already. The people on this board and ourselves are proof that you can recover nicely, does not mean there isn't a bumpy road ahead, but keep your payments current after your bk. Famous last line, "kiss of death" to a creditor if you make lates after a bk. You will really shoot yourself in the foot. My feeling with filing bk at all is that we had to sacrifice our credit and pride to do it. But we can sleep at night, make the housepayment and utilities, and eat. Good luck to you........
(Define loan credit) I never said it wasn;t a good program I just stated that is was a hybrid of what brokers can do and it is a really good way to package a certain program.
I love reading other peoples victories so thought I'd post a small one.
Now with either of these your interest rate will probably be 1/2 - 5/8 % higher if you don't pay a refinance fee.
